• <H3> Fred Meijer Kenowa Trail Connector To Lake Michigan Ready For Summer 2017 Build.
• <H3> You may have noticed the beautiful new driveway into Whistlestop Park from Byron Center Avenue, but have you noticed the bike path improvements? A new bike path has just been completed from the center of the park out to Byron Center Avenue. This will allow easy access to the Kent Trails through safe residential streets as well as an easier route to the 84th Street entrance to the Kent Trail. Another bike path has been constructed from the park center to the 76th Street Trail and connection to Kent Trails on the west. A third connector trail will be started soon this summer from the park center to Burlingave Avenue where developers will complete the bike path to Douglas/Walker Park on the east.  Young and old, bikers are enjoying the Byron Township bike trails more every summer.
• <H3> More good news for bikers who what to travel to all the trails along the Lake Michigan corridor.  Officials have solved the technical, safety and funding issues for the new Fred Meijer Kenowa Trail link between the Kent Trails and a multitude of trails along the lakeshore. Construction is scheduled to start early next summer on this final link. The Fred Meijer Foundation has approved the funding along with the State of Michigan.  This is also good news for all of us bikers who were just a little bit concerned about riding along Byron Road to reach the lake trails.
